    RADIO FREQEUNCY IRRITATION DEVICE.

How can there be traceability in the Canadian Cow-calf sector until permanent ID is achieved first?

What has the Cow man been told if he/she mentions RFID tag loss to the Tagging company,CCIA, CFIA, CCA or other government personnel?

You didn't apply the RFID eartag in the right place on the animals ear.

You didn't use the right pliers.

You didn't use the right buttons.

    You didn't use disinfectant.

    THIS IS ALL BULLSHIT NOW????

How many Taxpayers $$$ being spent on Scanning equipement in auction Markets and now PFRA pastures when there is huge problems with no-reads?

Oct 2 2010 SVMA/WCVM VETERINARY CONFERENCE IN SASKATOON. PAIN CONTROL IN THE BOVINE ANIMAL. ATTENDED BY LARGE ANIMAL VETERINARIANS AND CFIA VETERINARIANS.

Now Identified that Application of the eartags especially the RFID (hard Plastic eartag) to the bovine animal causes acute pain just equivalent to the branding iron.

Animal remembers acute pain and because these RFID eartags "fall out" very very often look what happens with animal behavior.

    1)cattle don't feed down alleys or chutes/

2)Try touching the animals ears a second, third or fourth time.

3)RFID placement is supposed to be deep in the ear and next to the brain.

4)Huge discussion on personnel injuries now, hands, faces with heads flopping around.

Why does the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (police and enforce) fines to cattle producers for acts that causes undue stress to animals like (hauling lame animals, crowded trailers, no straw etc) when they enforce laws that cause producers to repeatedly cause acts of "Acute pain" RFID eartag application to an animal for food production?

Why the forcement of animals through chutes and alleys for scanning when the scanners are useless. No SCan or no eartag that stays on the animals ear.

Recent Western Producer article PG 77 RFID TAG TRACEABILITY STUDY FINDS INCONSISTENT READINGS.

    BYE BYE RFID EARTAG.

Traceability is a huge $$$$ loss to the Canadian Tax payer---Makes the gun registry look like a real success story.

I believe in short order the RFID scanners will be fine tuned...it's like anything in technology, it just keeps improving! Hang in there it will no doubt get better.

Hey Diana great to see someone put up a post. I am a veterinarian and see both sides of the coin. The idea is great but we need to work on the technology. The readers have been fine as far as I have seen it is the tag retention that is the biggest problem for my clients.
