Bio: I was born and raised on a mixed farm at Redvers sk. I was going to do two things, farm and play hockey. I have been very lucky as that is all I have ever done. My wife Tammy is from Deloraine mb. We now ranch et Pincher Creek ab. and have been here since 95 when I retired from the NHL. We have three kids, 21,18,13, all are capable of doing the every day ranch work except the youngest and she is getting there too. We run close to a couple hundred cows split evenly between purebred angus and commercial angus. We calve the papered cows in april and may and the commercial cows in june and july. We run our bullcalves on grass their yearling summer and sell as rising twos in Fort Mcleod ab. We work with Stauffer Ranches and sell the second thursday of feb. Our commercial calves are weaned mid december and wintered at the ranch. We will sell the heavy end of the steers into the grass market the beginning of may and grass the rest. We put up our own feed and rely on very little outside help. We have very good neighbours and live in a very good community. We believe in producing a very good product and do our best to help push our industry to a higher level.Have a good day.
